Aria Diane Holmes has arrived!

Our little lady decided to come 9 days early on Friday March 11 at 2:52am. Here is her birth story:
On Thursday my back and hips were sore making it hard to get moving. I went for tea with a fellow preg mama due March 14th, did a few errands and then dropped by work to do some computer work. I got home just after 4pm. Tired and sore and I remember thinking man another 10 days of this is going to be tough. I had gone in for a midwife appt the day before and she had checked and I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced and soft. I was surprised because up until that point I hadn't felt much of anything. I did notice some minor cramping and back pain after this though.
After dinner I just laid down on the couch as my back was still bugging me. I noticed around 830/845 I felt some Braxton hicks or contractions. I told my mom but they were sporadic at this point. Neil put Dax to bed and I went upstairs to try to relax and watch tv. I noticed the contractions stronger and started in my back and then tightened in my stomach but were still 8-9mins and then sometimes 14 mins apart. I remember thinking if this is going to happen please happen!! And finally packed my bag! Lol
I told Neil to put the car seat in the truck just in case. Around 11 I got into bed decided to try to sleep. Contractions were mild but started getting closer to 4-5mins apart. After almost an hour of this I called the midwife to let her know as they were more consistent and lasting close to a minute. She advised us to meet her at the hospital in an hour. My mom came over and Neil's dad came to get Dax and we headed to the hospital. By this point my back was starting to hurt quite a bit.

The midwife checked me at the hospital around 12:45 and I was only 3cm dilated so she said this was still early labour. But there was a bit of blood and the prenatal ward wasn't busy so they said I could stay (yay! I so didn't want them to send me home). I got a room and dimmed the lights and tried to breathe through the contractions. My back pain was getting pretty intense.. Shooting down my butt into my legs. I told MW I was going to need something for the pain thinking this labour was just getting started. She suggested we try sub hypodermic water injections into my back. These are suppose to dull back pain for a few hours but hurt like an sob going in. I told her I wanted to try it. They injected me with four which didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought and it did seem to help.. At first. As soon as I tried to change positions though the back pain came back fast and furious. We decided to give the tub a try since I liked the tub last time. I got in and only had a few contractions before the back pain started to become unbearable. I didn't know how long I could go on like that. I also felt a bit of an urge to push. So she said she would check to see how dilated I was. Miraculously I was already 9cm!!! So from being admitted at 12:45 to approx 2:45am ish I had pretty much fully dilated.
They pulled me out of the tub quickly and I felt I needed to push again and this time much stronger. I was barely able to waddle back over to the bed. Before j knew it I was on my back and she was starting to crown. 3mins of pushing (and they were telling me to slow it down) she was out and on my chest. Best feeling ever!!! They watched for bleeding (which at this point they were giving me an IV of oxytocin to tighten me up) and luckily I just had a normal amount! I also didn't tear this time! She did a minor stitch on the outside of the perineum but she said there wasn't blood or anything just stretched a bit. Aria lay on me for the next few hours and totally found the boob herself and latched on. They finally weighed and measured her and she was 6lbs 12.6oz and 20in long. I am so thankful the day went so well. What a different experience from daxs delivery.
