Daxton is 7 months old!!

7 months, seriously, where has the time gone?!

Baby stats

Sleep: thankfully daylight savings only effected Dax for a few nights (mildly) and he is back to sleeping 8-10hrs straight at night. He has had quite a few 12hr straight nights too! Glorious :)

Feed: still every 2-3hrs other than at night when he wakes up around 4-5am then sleeps til 7-8am but he is eating a lot more food. 

Daily Routine:

Sleep til 7am.. Change, Feed, play on play mat then feed and nap at 9-10ish

Get dressed for the day, play in exersaucer or go to classes/run errands 

Feed, Nap 12-1

Afternoon we play with toys or go for walks 

Feed, Nap 3-4/5 it is great when he sleeps til 5 as then he can last until 7 feeling pretty good 

5 feed, 6 food, 645 bath, 7 change, read a book, feed and bed

Milestones: 

He is such a cool little guy.. I love getting to know him :) he is so sweet and funny. He is learning the word "no" which he looks stunned when I say it and then he smiles lol. 

He is a pro sitter and his back is so straight

I swear he said "daa" the other day but he does say "amumumum" when he's sad and it sounds like I want my mum ;)

He eats like a champ and tries to feed himself (which ends up everywhere) 

He wants to crawl and can move himself a bit but hasn't figured out how to coordinate.. I kind of hope he figures it out AFTER Christmas ;)

Events in the past month:

We started baby aqua fit and stroller bootcamp. Dax likes the water so aqua fit has been a success. The first half of class baby goes in a floaty and we do exercises and pull them around. Second half is a baby swimming lesson. Stroller bootcamp is fun for me :) 

We had Dax's Christmas photos taken.. So happy with them! He was super happy in his pictures.. Unfortunately very drooly though lol but we photoshopped drool out. 

Cold and runny nose that has lasted a few weeks but still pretty happy baby through it all. Sucks when the whole family gets sick!!

We had family pictures taken as well. Trying to get miller and Dax to look at the camera at the same time was very challenging!! Lol but so worth it :) 

Other than that it has been play dates and walks :) we put on Sesame Street when he had his baby cold and he loved it!

Daxton is 6 months old!

6 months

Baby stats

Sleep: he has had a few weeks where he has been waking up an extra time at night.. Not sure if its teething or growing or what. Luckily he has started sleeping straight through the night again! Too bad day light savings time is getting him up an hour earlier now! Anything more than 6hrs in a row is good.. 8-10 is a great night. 

Feed: still every 2-3hrs other than at night

Daily Routine:

Get dressed for the day, play in exersaucer and practice sitting and play toys

Feed, Nap 12-1

He is rocking lots now as he tries to stand up. 

Sitting by himself has come along really well this month. The last week he has really mastered it.

He is so sweet and likes to feel your face :)

He is really good with his hands and likes to flip toys around and look at them closely. He is very interested in cell phones and tv changer.. Clearly cos we use them all the time lol. 

He can flip around from sitting to tummy (I think he will crawl by Christmas for sure!)

He rolls around forward to back and back to tummy a lot in bed and will get into crawling position lifting his head up. 

Foods:

- sweet potato - yum!! Big hit 

- mum mums 

- banana - put sweet potatoes to shame

- pumpkin and apple - loves it!

- butternut squash - not a fav so going to mix lol

Events in the past month:

Great grandmas 90th birthday. Took the ferry over for the day and got to see all of moms family. It was fun and Dax was soo good! Yay! 

Met his future wife Quinn (she is too cute) and planning our trip to Maui in the spring. 

Had a thanksgiving photoshoot! It went really well despite a major blowout and spit up situation. We also went to the pumpkin patch that day which was fun as well :)

We had a great thanksgiving with both families. Dax had a great time visiting! And eating sweet potatoe! I think he eats more when we eat with him. 

Swimming is still going really well. He is getting more and more comfortable in the water. We also started mother goose which is a cute singing and playing class.

 

The weather has been so nice so we have been going out whenever possible. We are now using stroller without car seat. Dax likes to look around :)

We had such a fun Halloween! The day before we had a few of his little friends over so they could play and take cute pics in costumes. Then Halloween we carved pumpkins (and put him in one lol) and went trick or treating at the mall. It was fun since Neil and I dressed up too and got to see my coworkers. Neil says he gets to pick our costume theme next year ;)

Looking forward to: Christmas!!! I am already going overboard buying tons of Christmas outfits. I will decorate early this year too :)

Daxton is 5 months old!

5 months

Baby stats

Sleep: 8-10hrs.. A few nights he has slept 12! He goes to bed around 7 which is nice to have some time to ourselves. We have gotten into a better sleep routine and naps as well. I find if he naps every 2hrs he sleeps better at night. 

Feed: every 2-3hrs during the day and usually a feed at 5am then 8am starts the day.. We just started him on food.. First food is avocado :) he wasnt sure about it first time but went back for more! Lol 

Daily Routine:

Wake up 8-830 change, feed, play on play mat while mom eats breakfast 

10-1030-11ish naps, then diaper, change out of pjs, feed, plays in exersaucer or jumperoo or go to a class

1-2ish feed, diaper change then nap in crib

Play with toys and lots of standing time. If its nice we usually go for a walk and he will have a short nap. 

Repeat at 4-5ish

Usually plays with dad when he gets home and will go in mamaroo or jumperoo while we eat dinner. 

630 is bath time, change into pjs, read story (I usually sing story so he calms down) and last feed at 7 then time for bed!

Usually wakes up once between 3-5am for a feed then sleeps until around 8

Weight: 15lbs 7oz

Clothing size: mostly 6 month now and 6-9 month sleepers

Hair Color: light brown.. Still not much but I swear it's coming in lol. Poor guy is going to be wearing a ton of hats to keep him warm.

Challenges: he is still drooling like crazy and I wonder when his teeth will start poking through. He has found his voice and sometimes is a loud lil man. Loud squeals!! 

We have had a few nights he has cried himself to sleep which breaks my heart but trying to not have him rely on anything to get him to sleep. It seems to be paying off as he only fusses for a few minutes then falls asleep. 

Funniest moment: Trying to take pictures of Dax with his stuffed owl and Miller grabbing it out of his hand. LOL! clean up on aisle three by miller. Miller is a handy pup as he likes to clean up Daxton's spit up lol. It sounds gross but it's cute cos it makes Dax giggle when he licks him. 

Milestones: he is getting stronger standing up, you can just hold his hands and he will move his feet a bit. He jumps like crazy in his jumperoo now. Everything goes in his mouth! He makes a high pitch squeal sound now. He has found his voice! 

He tries to sit up but falls over eventually.. But when he falls he shimmys on to his stomach. He also rocks when he is sitting as I think he wants to stand up. Especially if his toy box is nearby. He likes standing in front of it and checking out his toys (he has a lot but gets bored of them lol). He likes to throw his toys on the floor too. 

We have started food as Dax has been pretty hungry and interested in food last few weeks. I am not interested in feeding him rice cereal so did some homework and started with avocado. First day he was kind of interested but most ended up on his face. Second day went better.. More in his mouth and seemed to not mind it. Yay :)

Events in the past month:

Trip to Dr. He was very impressed with Dax. He says he is very strong for 4 months and guesses he will be walking by 7.5months.. Oh boy! I hope he takes his time! Lol I'm excited for him to walk but then everything has to be baby proofed and have to watch him like a hawk. Besides he has to crawl before he walks right?!

First time up the mountain to grandma and grandpas. He liked that :) got to explore their garden. 

Neil is back to work so we signed up for some baby classes. We do kindermusik once a week which he likes. We sing songs and play with little instruments and bounce around. 

We also went to library to a story group. After went for lunch with a bunch of moms. Dax was so well behaved!!

Dax had his first swimming lesson and it went really well! They poured little watering cans on them and played little games then got to swim down the little river. It was so cute as the class was almost all dads with babies :) he was pretty happy up until last few minutes so I was proud. 

Looking forward to: Dax being able to sit up by himself. Fall and Halloween!! I'm excited for all the holidays coming up :)

Daxton is 4 months old!

4 months

Baby stats

Sleep: He goes to bed around 8-830 which is nice to have some time to ourselves. But he wakes up earlier since he goes to bed earlier. Also if we are out he gets cranky early since its his bedtime so need to be home at a decent hour. Dax has started a minor sleep regression the last few weeks...and right now most nights he wakes up after 6hours which is like 2-3ish. Hope this doesn't continue! I think I just need to go to bed earlier lol. He is sleeping in his crib now though :) 

Feed: every 2-3hrs during the day and usually a feed at 3am then 6-7am starts the day

Daily Routine: I have been really working on making sure Dax gets enough naps. He has a harder time napping now so it's essential after 2-2.5hrs of being awake to put him down for a nap. 

Weight: 15lbs

Diaper size: size 2

Clothing size: 3-6months.. And those sleepers just fit! Next growth spurt and he will be 6-9month sleepers. I have two boxes of clothes that don't fit him already!

Challenges: he sometimes fights nap time and gets over tired and cranky. We both get frustrated with that. If I was him I'd love nap time! He is a drool machine lately and goes through bibs like no other. Luckily we found some more cute bandana ones :)

Funniest moment: peeing in the tub

Milestones: he can hold his head completely now. He loves standing up and has the strength to stand awhile just not quite the balance. He now tries to pull himself up to sit but folds in half lol. He is giggling a lot. He thinks punching his dad, high 5s and tickles are funny. He is so much better with his hands now.. It is amazing in a few weeks how much more coordinated they become. He now grabs toys and puts them in his mouth and interacts with toys on jumperoo.

Events in the past month:

Love being off with Neil. We have been going to the beach and going on walks and trying to sleep in when possible :) lol 

Dax met his cousins Elliot and Zoe. He didnt like when Zoe held him though lol. 

Going to BBQs with baby D and have gone out for a few date nights. 

Looking forward to: Dax being able to sit up by himself so he can play. Fall and Halloween!! I'm excited for all the holidays coming up :)
